မာကိုပိုလို (Marco Polo ) (၁၂၅၄ – ၁၃၂၄) သည် ဗီးနက်ရှင်း သမ္မတနိုင်ငံမှ ကုန်သည်တစ်ဦးဖြစ်ပြီး ဥရောပသားများအား အလယ်အာရှနှင့် တရုတ်ပြည်ကို သိရှိလာစေသည့် မာကိုပိုလို ခရီးသွားမှတ်တမ်းကို ရေးသားခဲ့သူ ဖြစ်သည်။ သူသည် ကုန်သွယ်မှု လုပ်ငန်းများကို သူ၏ဖခင် နီကိုလို ပိုလိုနှင့် ဦးလေး မာဖဲယို ပိုလိုတို့ထံမှ သင်ယူခဲ့ပြီး ၎င်းတို့နှင့်အတူ ပိုးလမ်းတလျှောက် အာရှသို့ ခရီးနှင်စဉ်တွင် တရုတ်ပြည်၌ ထိုစဉ်က အုပ်စိုးမင်းမူသည့် ယွမ်မင်းဆက် ကူဗလိုင်ခန် မွန်ဂိုဘုရင်နှင့် တွေ့ဆုံခဲ့သည်။ ဗီးနစ်သို့ ပြန်ရောက်ပြီးနောက် ဂျီနိုဝါတိုက်ပွဲတွင် အဖမ်းခံခဲ့ရသည်။ အကျဉ်းကျနေစဉ်အတွင်း သူ၏ခရီးသွား အတွေ့အကြုံကို အကျဉ်းဖော်အား ပြောပြကာ ရေးသားစေခဲ့သည်။ ၁၂၉၉ ခုနှစ်တွင် မာကိုပိုလိုသည် အကျဉ်းထောင်မှ လွတ်မြောက်လာကာ ချမ်းသာကြွယ်ဝသည့် ကုန်သည် တစ်ဦးဖြစ်လာသည်။ မာကိုပိုလိုသည် ၁၃၂၄ ခုနှစ်တွင် ကွယ်လွန်ပြီး စိန့်လော်ရင်ဇို ဘုရားကျောင်းတွင် ဂူသွင်းမြှုပ်နှံထားသည်။
မာကိုပိုလိုတို့၏ ခရီးစဉ်သည်လည်း ကိုလံဘတ်စ်ကဲ့သို့သော နောက်မျိုးဆက် စူးစမ်းလေ့လာသူများအဖို့ နမူနာဖြစ်ခဲ့သည်။

- The exact source is unknown, but the portrait originated from a 16th century painting in the Gallery of Monsignor Badia in Rome. Inscription: Marcus Polus venetus totius orbis et Indie peregrator primus. It appears in the Nordisk familjebok Berg 1915, p. 1261
